Two USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet on February 3

Baltimore, Md. (Feb. 1, 2022) – Two committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, Feb. 3.

The USM Board of Regents Committee on Governance & Compensation will meet at 8:30 a.m. Access to the meeting is via the following dial-in information:

The committee will vote on approval of public and closed session minutes from its meeting on Nov. 30, 2021. It will then vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are ratification of a collective bargaining memorandum of understanding (MOU) at a USM institution; a collective bargaining update; a USM president’s transition agreement; and an update on certain personnel contracts and employment agreements.

The committee will vote on proposed amendments to the Committee on Finance charge, role, and responsibilities and Article X, Section 5 of the USM Bylaws. The committee will receive a presentation regarding fiscal year (FY) 2021 audited financial statements and USM financial planning. The committee also will hear information updates regarding the FY 2022 and FY 2023 operating budget and the FY 2023 capital budget.

Other information items are a review of USM capital improvement projects and a policing collaboration between the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Baltimore.
