Two USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet on March 30
Baltimore, Md. (March 28, 2023) – Two committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, March 30.
(Note: Due to scheduling issues, the previously scheduled meeting for the USM Board of Regents Committee on Governance & Compensation on March 30 will take place when the Board of Regents meets on April 14.)

Action items before the committee include USM self-support charges and fees for fiscal year (FY) 2024 and USM enrollment projections for FY 2024-2033. The committee will vote on three items regarding the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB): the facilities master plan update, a fit-out for the fifth and sixth floors of the Health Sciences Research Facility III, and modifications to the Oracle financial systems contract and an additional renewal term. There also will be a vote on a voluntary separation program for tenured faculty in select academic areas at the University of Maryland, College Park. Information items before the committee include a presentation of the Frostburg State facilities master plan five-year update and financial results of intercollegiate athletic programs.
The committee will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are consideration of the acquisition of real property in College Park/Riverdale Park and awarding of new contracts for dining services and a wired and wireless network refresh.

The committee will hear an information item regarding the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)’s bwtech@UMBC Economic Development Agency (EDA) Fellows Program. Universities at Shady Grove (USG) Executive Director Anne Khademian will discuss USG 2.0: A Community of Innovation for the USM. Finally, the committee will hear an information item regarding current activities of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development.
