USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, September 22
Baltimore, Md. (Sept. 20, 2022) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. The board will convene at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center (General Vessey Ballroom) at the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC).

The board will hold an educational forum regarding UMGC Ventures, presented by UMGC President Gregory Fowler.
The board will recognize the nine winners of the 2023 Regents Staff Awards. In addition to voting on several action items approved at prior committee meetings, the regents also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students. Information items include the USM branding presentation.
Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to submit a written request 48 hours in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act.
Exempted items include various personnel matters; acquisition of real property; an information update on specific personnel contracts subject to review under the Policy on Board of Regents Review of Certain Contracts and Employment Agreements; and the proposed fiscal year 2025 operating budget submission proposal and potential adjustments to the submission.
