USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, Nov. 10

Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 9, 2023) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.

The meeting will be held in the third-floor ballrooms of the University Union at Towson University.

Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

The board will hold an educational forum regarding sports betting, presented by Keith Whyte, executive director of the National Council on Problem Gambling.

The board will vote on several agenda items, including the Carver Hall renovation project at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and the 2023 campus facilities plan for the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). The board also will vote on the acquisition by UMCP of 1.75 acres of unimproved land from University of Maryland Global Campus.

The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include meetings with two presidents as part of their performance reviews; consideration of the investment of the USM Common Trust Fund; consideration of the proposed fiscal year 2025 operating budget submission and potential updates to the submission; a collective bargaining update; an update on the Segal study regarding USM presidents’ compensation; and a personnel matter.
