Three USM Board of Regents Committees to Meet on Nov. 30
Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 29, 2023) – Three committees of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet on Thursday, Nov. 30.
The Committee on Governance & Compensation will meet at 8:30 a.m. Access to the meeting is via the following dial-in information:

The committee will vote on a revision to its bylaws and then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are an update on the status of collective bargaining at USM institutions and an information update concerning specific employment agreements of USM and institution personnel.

The committee will vote on several action items. These items include upgrades to the mechanical infrastructure for Howard Hall at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and a renovation of Robinson Hall at Bowie State University. The committee will vote on a proposed amendment to tuition rate policy and a replacement project for the videoboard at the Xfinity Center at University of Maryland, College Park. The committee will hear an information item regarding USM fiscal year 2023 procurement contracts.
The committee will vote publicly on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Those items are the consideration of a new contract for a video board, hoist, and associated audio system, and a new contract regarding actuarial services.

The committee will hear research and economic development updates from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development.
