USM Board of Regents Meets on April 18-19
Baltimore, Md. (April 17, 2024) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 19. In a modified agenda, the board will hold its Education Forum on Thursday, April 18, at 4 p.m., in the same location. Title IX expert Janet Judge of Education & Sports Law Group, LLC will conduct the session. The board will convene at Bowie State University in Ballroom A of the Student Center on both days.

At a special breakfast reception before the Friday morning public session, the board will recognize the 20 winners of the 2024 Regents Faculty Awards.
Following the breakfast, the board will vote on several action items, including new academic programs at several institutions, recommended adjustments to the exempt and nonexempt salary structures, and the fiscal year 2024 schedule of tuition and mandatory fees.
The board also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include meetings with four presidents as part of their performance reviews; recommendations for the Regents Student Excellence Scholarships; consideration of the investment for the USM Common Trust Fund; consideration of the acquisition of real property in Salisbury; and an update on collective bargaining.
