USM Board of Regents Meets on Friday, September 19
Baltimore, Md. (Sept. 18, 2025) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.
The board will convene at Salisbury University at 1101 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, Maryland.

The board will hold an educational forum ,“Title IX Update and Introduction to Title VI,” presented by Janet Judge of the Education & Sports Law Group, LLC, and the Chancellor’s Report.
The board will recognize the ten winners of the 2025 Board of Regents Staff Awards. In addition to voting on several action items approved at prior committee meetings, the Regents also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students and several information items.
Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include requests by institutions to name facilities after individuals; the awarding of a contract for services for program management; a discussion of the FY 2027 capital budget; an update on the status of collective bargaining; an individual personnel matter at an institution; an information update regarding specific personnel contracts subject to review; meetings with two presidents as part of their performance reviews; discussion with legal counsel about potential legislation; and discussion with legal counsel about the implications of recent federal actions.
