Chancellor Kirwan, UMB President Ramsay Among 60 "Influential Marylanders" for 2008
ADELPHI, Md. (February 19, 2008) - University System of Maryland (USM) Chancellor William E. Kirwan and
University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President David J. Ramsay have
been named among 60 "Influential Marylanders" for 2008 by The Daily Record legal and business newspaper.
The annual "Influential
Marylanders" list honors citizens in diverse fields such as civic leadership,
communications, education, finance, and technology who "have each made truly significant impacts in their
fields and continue to be leaders in Maryland's ongoing growth," according to The Daily Record. A panel of the
newspaper's editors selects five honorees for each of 10 categories.
The Daily Record will honor this year's "Influential Marylanders" on Wednesday, April
30, 2008, during dinner and
ceremonies at the Grand Lodge in Cockeysville.
