Aaliyah Edwards is a junior and Dean's List student at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a clinical concentration.

At UMES, Aaliyah has been hands on with various organizations and groups since her enrollment in 2018. These include My Sister's Keeper, Caribbean International Club, National Society of Leadership and Success, Haus of Legacy (Modeling production team) , F.L.I.P.S advisor (Financial Aid peer advisor), and a Hawk Ambassador for the Admissions office.

Beyond campus life, Aaliyah has been involved in numerous community and public service activities, to include handing out school supply kits to public schools in Jamaica and Grenada; helping with Princess Anne cleanup; making toiletry kits for the homeless in Princess Anne; and, feeding the homeless in Downtown Baltimore, to name a few. Being born in Trinidad and Tobago, Aaliyah feels a great sense of duty to visit frequently and give back to her community. She is an active member in the Dan Kelly Improvement Committee where she offers her tutoring and mentoring services for the youth of the community.

Aaliyah looks forward to furthering her education in the future by attending graduate school in hopes of becoming a physician's assistant with a specialty in orthopedics.

Ms. Edwards lives in Parkville, MD with her mother and grandmother.
