Barry P. Gossett is the retired Chairman and CEO of Baltimore-based Acton Mobile Industries, suppliers of mobile offices, construction trailers and modular buildings. He is the retired Chairman and CEO of Williams Scotsman, Inc. having served there from 1969 to 2002. Mr. Gossett is a charter member of the Modular Building Institute, where he served on its Board of Directors from 1982 through 1986 and as president in 1985. He received the Institutes first Outstanding Achievement Award and is a member of the MBI Hall of Fame. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Gossett currently serves on the Board of the University of Maryland Medical System, Attorney Grievance Commission, Executive Board of the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America (Past Chair), Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, University System of Maryland Foundation (Past Chair), Kure Pain LLC and Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan Association. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Fearless Ideas Campaign for the University of Maryland, College Park.
He previously served on the Board of the Maryland Manufactured Housing Association, State Prosecutor Selection and Disabilities Commission, Governors Salary Commission, Babe Ruth Birthplace Foundation, New Children's Hospital (Baltimore), Essex Community College Foundation, Terrapin Club and the University of Maryland, College Park Foundation (Past Chair) for which he co-chaired Great Expectations, the Campaign for Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park.
