Former chair and chief executive officer of Computer Data Systems, Inc., now known as ACS Government Solutions Group. Named board chair of VSE Corporation, a government and defense engineering support firm, in May 2010. Also serves on the boards of i360, Inc., and Burdeshaw Associates, Ltd. Serves on the board of directors for the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.

Previously served on the board of directors of Washington Real Estate Trust. Past chairman of the board of On-Site Sourcing, Inc., and Objective Communications, Inc. Founder and former chair of the Montgomery Community Foundation. Past board member of the Maryland Economic Development Commission. Past chair of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Montgomery/Prince George's County CEO Roundtable, and the Technology Council of Maryland.

Graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and George Washington University.

In February 2011, received the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tech Council of Maryland. The award is given each year to a local individual to recognize exceptional service to the community at large. Named the 2010 inductee to the Greater Washington Government Contractor Hall of Fame. Received the inaugural George Washington University President's Outstanding Service Award (2008). Elected to the Washington Business Hall of Fame (1999).
