UMS Nonexempt Pay Program
Perhaps the largest undertaking in designing and organizing the new Pay
Program was developing job specifications to ensure that they included
up-to-date information about the work performed in USM jobs. Many job
specifications had not been updated for years and no longer reflected the
actual knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform various jobs.
Beginning several years ago, the USM took an extensive look at job
specifications across all campuses. This review allowed us to take into
account the similarities and differences between the institutions and to
create a set of job class specifications that easily could be used on
each campus.
Nonexempt Job Class Specifications
