Under general supervision, performs a variety of specialized technical tasks involving the installation, repair, calibration, and some fabrication of diagnostic and therapeutic biomedical equipment and systems.
1. Inspects and installs medical and related technical equipment
utilized in researching, monitoring, diagnosing, and treating
physical ailments or dysfunctions.
2. Repairs, calibrates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment using
hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices. Ensures
compliance with preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
3. Safety-tests medical equipment and health care facility`s
structural environment to ensure patient and staff safety from
electrical and mechanical hazards. Consults with medical or
research personnel to ascertain proper equipment functions.
4. Recommends changes to or modifies equipment to meet specific
therapeutic or diagnostic requirements.
5. Conducts inservice training on use and general maintenance of
biomedical equipment. Demonstrates and explains correct and safe
operation of equipment.
6. Assists with the preparation of specifications for the purchase

EXPERIENCE: Associate of Arts degree in Electronics or Electronic Technology.
OTHER: One year electronic or biomedical equipment maintenance and repair.
