Assistant/Associate Director (800144)

The University System of Maryland Office (USMO) invites applications and nominations for the Exempt Staff position of Assistant or Associate Director. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the day-to-day operations for the William E. Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation.

The Assistant or Associate Director will work with the Director to set Center goals and priorities and develop initiatives. Support the implementation of system-wide academic innovation initiatives including overseeing schedule, budget, and evaluation. Update the Center's website and other promotional materials. Lead committees and task forces to advance initiatives. Stand in for the Director at events and meetings as needed.

A bachelor's degree is required with a proven track record of working with multiple institutions on a variety of academic initiatives and managing a complex array of project tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A master's degree is preferred with significant experience working in higher education and grant funded initiatives with knowledge of existing and emerging models for academic innovation (such as new pedagogical methods, learner analytics, competency-based learning, adaptive learning and OER).
