USM Regents Meet June 4 to Vote on Tuition for 2008-2009 Academic Year
Board Education Policy Committee
to Convene at 10:30 a.m.
ADELPHI, Md. (May 30, 2008) - The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold a special meeting on Wednesday,
June 4, 2008, to vote on tuition and fees for the 2008-2009 academic year. The
board will meet in executive session at 9:15
a.m., followed by a public session at 9:35 a.m., on the seventh
floor of the Albin O. Kuhn Library, University of Maryland, Baltimore
County (UMBC), Catonsville.

Following the special meeting, the board's committee on education policy
will convene its scheduled meeting at 10:30
a.m. Action items before the committee include:
- New academic
program proposals at Coppin State University, Towson University, UMBC, and University of Maryland, College
Park;
- Revision of
USM policy on appointment, rank, and tenure of faculty (II-1.00).
In addition, the committee will receive status reports on Salisbury
University's SAT-optional admissions pilot program; intercollegiate athletics
and NCAA academic progress rates; racial and gender distribution of faculty;
and FY 2007 external research funding.
