Philanthropic support of our colleges and universities strengthens Maryland's economy by
fueling innovation and meeting state workforce needs in nursing, teaching, heath care,
homeland security, engineering and numerous other fields.
Gifts to our institutions support quality instruction, provide vital resources that
create life-long opportunities for students, expanding knowledge through leading-edge
research, and redefine the boundaries of the possible. Contributions from friends and
alumni support:
- Scholarships for talented and needy students
- Endowed chairs and professorships to recruit outstanding teachers and researchers
- Building funds for libraries, laboratories, athletic and performing arts facilities, and dormitories, as well as
- Community service and other programs that enrich the learning experiences for more than 120,000 students who attend our campuses each year.
