Eligible employees can enroll through USM Retirement@Work® today and start saving for their financial future.

From one website, you can now:

  • Enroll in one or more USM Supplemental Retirement plans through Fidelity and/or TIAA.
  • Research investment options provided by both plan vendors.
  • View your balances for all plans, regardless of vendor.
  • Change your voluntary contribution amounts.
  • Access investment tools and calculators.

WHAT'S NOT CHANGING?

While you'll have access to all of your USM supplemental retirement investments in one location, these things will not change:

  • Your current vendor account access through Fidelity and TIAA.
  • Your current plan elections and deduction amounts.
  • Your current investment choices.
  • Your current beneficiary designations.

Please note that access to the State of Maryland’s supplemental retirement plan accounts will still occur through the MSRPS Nationwide portal.

First Paycheck of 2025 Information

If you would like to make changes to your contributions to supplemental retirement accounts for the first paycheck of 2025, please see the deadlines below for submitting contribution changes. These are only the cut off dates for changes to be effective on the first pay check of 2025, you can make changes to your contrbutions online at any time to be effective for future paychecks. The University System of Maryland has 3 payroll systems that are determined by either your institution on your employee status.

  • If you are employed at the University of Maryland, Baltimore , University of Maryland, Baltimore County, University of Maryland, College Park, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Maryland Global Campus, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, or USM Office, you are on the "UM" payroll system.
  • If you are employed at Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University, Salisbury University, Towson University, or University of Baltimore, you are either on the "RG (Regular)" or "CT (Contractual)" payroll system, depending on your employee status. If you are unsure of which payroll system you are on, you can visit the Payroll Online Service Center , view your list of current pay stubs, and look for "System" in the report.
