Title IX & Sexual Misconduct Policies and Procedures

The University System of Maryland Office is committed to providing a working environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex, including gender-based discrimination, pregnancy and parenting discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, domestic violence, voyeurism, and any other conduct of a sexual nature that is nonconsensual. We fully support the Title IX federal law that prohibits these types of discriminatory acts.

The USM Office Policy & Procedures on Sexual Misconduct defines prohibited conduct, describes how to file a complaint, articulates the procedures for investigating and resolving complaints, and identifies resources and educational training programs.

USM OFFICE NONDISCRIMINATION STATEMENT

The University System of Maryland Office (“USM Office”) serves as staff of the Board of Regents under the leadership of the USM Chancellor. REQUIRED TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES

All newly hired employees are required to complete the following courses within 90 days of employment. Existing employees are required to complete these courses on a biennial basis. The USMO provides the following training courses through its vendor, Vector Solutions, which meet the training requirements of Title IX and the State of Maryland regarding sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct.
